After we knew we were going to be
under schedule, we had to come up with a replacement idea and fast. Athena
suggested that we just do a little mock interview of people, but inside our
house cause that’d take less time to make, but I thought that it was a bit
too generic of an idea to really do.

So
than she suggested that we do it outside, cause by then the rain had
stopped, and that we interview
random people from the street. I thought this was a great idea so we got the
camcorder charged and set out to go film interviews with random people.
Unsurprisingly not a lot of people were willing to be interviewed, by two
random kids with a camcorder and mic.
But one person was willing to be interviewed by as… After some prodding that is. In comes Mr Jenkels.
A 75 year old homeless vet of
World War 2
and he currently lives in a
cardboard box
We
met him while scouting out people to interview, and the man called out to
us, about what we were doing. We told him
we was going to interview people for our school project, and asked if he
wanted to be interviewed. He, at first said no, but after we offered to buy
him a sandwich from a deli nearby and telling him he could tell us his lifes
story.
on the west side of korage
underneath a railroad bridge.
He
ended up agreeing, and now because of that I have 5 60 minute Hi8 Cassettes
on my storage shelf...
This guy costed me around 25
dollars…
I’d be in his position if it
weren’t for my parents!
Eh, it was worth it, cause what we filmed was really interesting. He’s an interesting guy that’s for sure, and it’s a real shame that hes homeless at the moment, though I think he’ll find his footing again one day.
I can’t do much to help someone
as incredible as Mr Jenkels. He fought in World War 2 for Christ sake! I’ve
only fought in recreational war battles! And we didn’t even use real or toy
guns, we just used sticks and pretended they were guns!
I
wish I could help (Me too) but im just a kid…
But ahem before I sidetrack about that whole ordeal, I’ll end off this section of the page by saying this. Mr Jenkels is a very kind man so to anyone out there in the Korage, Delaware area looking for someone to hire. I’d consider Mr Jenkels for a hire.
Heck it was only even me and
Athena participating, cause all the other kids near the river DO actually
have battles with each other and we don’t want to get involved in that crud!
Contact
the Email at the bottom of the web page to email me and know Mr Jenkels full
name if you plan on hiring him!
